SEVEN SISTERS
An entrance sculpture for a Light Rail station at an amusement park

“Seven Sisters” is a site-responsive installation designed for the experience of the people who use it. This monumental design serves as a gateway and landmark for a new Light Rail station at a downtown sports arena and amusement park.
Commissioned by the Regional Transportation District with help from the Denver Urban Renewal Authority, Pepsi Center, and Elitch Gardens, these seven whimsical sculptures respond to the recreational experiences of passengers using this Light Rail Station. Reaching up to 24 feet above the station platform, the steel shapes announce the arrival of passengers to this distinct urban environment. As a fun, figural abstraction, Seven Sisters pays homage to the attitudes and enthusiasm engendered by the people who use this Light Rail station.
